Lore[ | ]

The surface of the The 9th Plane is covered by an enormous frozen lake, however below that thick ice an entire ecosystem struggles to survive without replenishment from above. Nothing new can grow and the plant life still remaining is barely hanging on. Its water was murky and distorted by the overgrown algae reducing visibility. A few rocks and coral formations were scattered across the ground.

Deep beneath the ice of the frozen lake lurked the deadliest predator of all the The Chaos. So deadly was this creature that since their arrival in The 9th Plane, every single living creature beneath the ice had been consumed. According to Shadow Tooth, he didn't mean to murder anyone... at first. He swears he was just trying to floss his 13 rows of teeth on a few flimsy reeds when he "accidentally" sunk his teeth into a scaly creature. He became fascinated by the blood churning and mixing with the water. In a mater of minutes, Shadow Tooth had hunted down and punctured ever creature he could find. He was ecstatically swimming to and fro in the red streaks humming to himself.

It took sometime for the iron in the blood to settle to the lake bed, but once it did Shadow Tooth realized in his compulsion he didn't think about what happened after all the creatures were gone. Certain he couldn't have murdered everyone, he searched and searched spending all day and night hunting. He was skimming near the surface when he spotted a dark spot above the ice. He raced straight for it jaws wide open, only to get a face full of ice. He shook the impact off and checked to make sure he didn't lose any of his precious teeth.

Sinking a few feet below the ice, he began tracking the dot. He knew one day it would stop and sink through the ice. He would be rewarded for his patience. This went on for sometime but the little dot never seemed to stop. It just slipped and slid this way and that. Shadow Tooth was getting restless and hungry. A muffled boom echoed in the water sending a shock wave through the lake. Shadow Tooth was forced back and in that moment he lost track of the black dot. Frantically he searched for it. He saw it a few hundred feet in front of him heading straight for a large crack that had just appeared in the ice.

This was it, his patience had paid off and the ice couldn't stop him now. Closing the distance was easy work for him and he had timed it perfectly. Just as the little dot reached the edge of the crack he lunged up through the ice and chomped down as hard as he could. His large body sunk back down beneath the surface, but something felt different. The ice was no longer above him and in the distance he could hear the echoes of little feet pattering across stone. He didn't know where the little dot had gone, but it looked like he had new prey to hunt, new colors to mix in the water.
